Bible Passage: 1 Peter 5:8-9, Job 5:12-14
The word “strategy” in Greek is called “stratiyeia”. Comprising of two Greek words “stratos” meaning army and “ago,” which in ancient Greek denotes guiding, moving and leading. The word strategy springs from the need for people to defeat their enemies. The first treaties that discussed strategy are from the Chinese during the period of 400 – 200 B.C. Word web dictionary defines strategy as the branch of military science dealing with military command and the planning and conduct of a war, while others define it as an elaborate and systematic plan of action. The devil is a master strategist; a schemer that comes up with secret plans or plots to conquer his prey or victim. 2 Corinthians 2:11 “Lest Satan should get an advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.”
The scripture calls Satan’s strategy devices as in the scripture above. Paul, writing to the Corinthian church, realised that Satan was working overtime in the church and emphasised that we are to be vigilant and alert to his subtlety. Satan’s advantage is based upon one’s ignorance to his devices or strategy. I pray for you that God will give you knowledge that will expose and frustrate the devices of your enemies.
One of Satan’s strategies is to distract believers. He seeks to distract us by getting us to focus our attention on the material, instead of the spiritual. He tries to make us focus on men rather than on God. Anytime you give Satan attention, he will give you direction. Satan wants believers to focus all their attention on the minors, rather than on the major. The Bible calls the enemy or the devil as an entrepreneur. Someone who organises a business venture and assumes the risk for it; someone that operates an enterprise. According to our text in Job 5:12, the devil is not only a businessman, but he also strategises to see how to succeed in the business. The business is to steal, kill and to destroy. John 10:10a “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” I decree that every satanic business venture of the enemy in your life is permanently shut down today in Jesus name.
Another way or strategy he uses to succeed in his enterprise against believers is through the agent of discouragement. He wants you to give up on your dreams. He tells you that God has abandoned you; can’t you see that you are suffering? This dream will never come to pass. All these, Satan will tell you so as discourage you. Discouragement is lack of hope, usually after a major victory. Like the story of David and his men at Ziklag. After a major victory, they came home to discover that the enemy had raided their homes and carried away their wives and children. His army almost stoned him, but he encouraged himself in the Lord, inquired from God, pursued, overtook the enemies and recovered all. I decree that everything you have lost is coming back to you in a hurry in Jesus name.
Many people are confronted with Satan’s weapon of discouragement on Monday after a breakthrough on Sunday. The devil wants you to believe that things are worse than they are. He can even use persons close to you to discourage you. Deuteronomy 1:28 “Whither shall we go up? Our brethren have discouraged our heart”. May you be encouraged in the Lord. Whatever God said to you, He will surely bring it to pass.

• Oh God, arise, disappoint the devices of the enemy against my life.
• Satanic enterprise built because of me, catch fire!
• Father! Open my eyes, to see the strategy of the enemy.
• Arrows of distraction fired at me, in the name of Jesus backfire!
• Let the path of my enemies be slippery and let them fall and scatter their cheekbones.
