Dealing with masquerading powers – Part 1

Rev. John Okene
To masquerade means to pretend to be what you are not. It also means to wear a costume or mask to disguise or to put on a veil to hide your identity. In 2 Cor. 11:14-15, we are told that Satan disguises as angel of light. It is not surprising, therefore, to know that his agents do the same thing even when they know that they will be condemned in judgment. Masquerades are powers or evil personalities that cover themselves with a veil whenever they attack their victims. They use the cover of the night to attack their victims. This includes witches and wizards, ancestral demons or even close associates operating with demonic powers. They can use the face of a familiar person to attack you, while their true identity remains unknown. This is why you must not be too quick to accuse anybody when you experience certain attacks in your dream.
It is important to know what these powers disguise themselves into: Firstly, they could masquerade as Christians, even pastors, preachers or prophets with large following. Many of them are occultic, yet they wear suits like ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ to deceive people. You can identify them by their fruits not by their gifts because some gifts can be faked.
Satan and his agents prophesy like genuine servants of God; so, you have to be careful of where you go to. Secondly, they masquerade themselves as friends, while they are your worse enemies. I remember the story of two ladies who were best of friends. One of them perceived that her husband was having affairs with a strange evil woman and told her friend, so that they can both fast and pray over it, but not quite long the secret discussion soon became a public issue.
Both friends attended the same fellowship in the same ministry; so, the story spread fast. All the members of the fellowship, except the woman in question and the pastor of fellowship, knew who the strange woman was, but could not say it.
The woman in question was naïve and bewitched until a concerned member of the fellowship disclosed to her that the strange woman is her best friend. It was too late to do anything and she lost her husband to her so-called best friend. I pray for you, may God expose every secret enemy disguising as a friend around you in Jesus’ name.
Again, masquerading powers can disguise as angel of light, while they are angel of darkness. When they come to you watch what they say, if it is in accordance with the word of God, (Isaiah 8:20). Sometime ago, a very young believer out of excitement, embarked on a long period of fasting and prayer. All he requested for was to hear from God. The devil took advantage of his naiveness and began to tell him to do strange things.
He did not know the difference between God’s voice and that of Satan, and he was misled by masquerading power. He almost ran mad until God intervened to save the situation. Not every angelic appearance is an angel of light, whether in your dream or physical. There are ways to tell if you have met a true angel of light. Angels do not demand for worship, even if you attempt to do so in honour. If you meet an angel of light, you will tremble, no matter how anointed or holy you may be; and the angel will tell you: “Fear not.” May every season of masquerade attack in your life be cancelled in Jesus’ name.

Dealing with masquerading powers – Part 2

John Okene
A lot of people are going through mysterious experiences today. Many are fighting strange battles and are confused because they cannot identify the source of their battles. It is as if they are wrestling with shadows and you can’t win such battles. The enemies we are fighting love to disguise themselves just like the woman in our Bible text. If Judah had known her true identity, he would never have slept with her. The enemy can disguise in different ways to make you confused and then accuse the wrong person. Sometime ago, a young man just about to take his marriage vows on his wedding day changed his mind right at the altar. He walked away without an explanation, leaving his bride and everyone perplexed. The lady collapsed and was rushed out for medical attention.
A few months after, the young man married another woman while the first woman lived in great bitterness. She never knew it was the power of bewitchment. Three years later, the young man woke up one morning, questioning his wife who she was and what she was doing in his room. He suddenly realised himself and went in search of the first woman, but she drove him away angrily.
At this time, she attended one of our deliverance services after which she had a revelation that her father had married her out in the spirit realm to their family idol. This was the masquerading power acting as a strong spirit husband disturbing her relationship. She thought it was the fault of the young man. After running her through deliverance, her marriage to the young man was restored. Any power wearing a veil to attack you shall receive fire in Jesus’ name.
Masquerading powers can disguise in different ways, as angels of light, friends, fellow believers and even ministers of God. The Bible says by their fruits, you shall know them. You must be very prayerful and careful. Again, they can disguise as your dead relatives in order to enter a covenant with you.
A brother who attended our fellowship sometime ago, saw his late father in a dream. The father told him that enemies were about to attack him and then instructed him on what to do. The father came to him repeatedly in dreams and everything he told him appeared to be true. This made him to gain confidence in his relationship with his dead father. On one occasion, the father appeared as usual and told him that the world is full of wickedness, so, he should join him where he is because there is peace there. He told his father he was not ready and so they agreed it would be the month of April the following year. He woke up from that dream with great fear and ran to the church for deliverance. We had to cancel that covenant of death and unmask the face disguising as his father. It was a demonic being.
Some others masquerade themselves as good Christians while they are devil incarnate. They are all found in the church today, as witches and wizards. Marine agents all dressed like saints. They are even fervent in services to confuse people.
Lastly, masquerading powers can disguise as your husband or wife in the dream, but are actually marine or ancestral spirits. They do this to have sex with you and also to weaken you spiritually. In some cases, every member of a family can be married to the same ancestral idol and this can make their marriages physically to always fail. Even some committed Christians and anointed men of God are not exempted from such experiences until proper deliverance is done. May God expose every masquerading power around in Jesus’ name.
